Traditions are a way of keeping us connected with our past, our family and our culture and without traditions it would be a pretty boring world of monotony. I am one for keeping traditions alive and even reviving those that may have been lost over generations. The Sicilian culture in particular has many traditions being that they are the "melting pot" of the Mediterranean, and each region of Sicily has their own particular traditions. Most of the traditions revolve around or are in some way related to the church. Superstitions and celebrations are as much a part of the Sicily culture as are language, cuisine and art. Below are some of the traditions my family celebrates!
